Picture Book Artists Association is an independent organization. Our goals are to create a friendly and supportive community where professional children's book illustrators can share, learn, get exposure for their work, connect with teachers and librarians, and gain recognition among the publishing industry and general public.
PBAA currently consists of two parts: the PicBookArts listserv and the PictureBookArtists.org website.
For years, freelance artists have worked in isolation. PicBookArts creates a sense of unity and keeps us up-to-date on issues facing illustrators today. Members share information about promotion, contracts, materials, techniques, pricing, digital media, art directors, publishers, etc. We're busy, working artists, so there are moderators and rules to keep us on subject.
